By now you’ve seen reports that a couple of fellows at Caltech (my alma mater) seem hot on the trail of a neptune-sized “Ninth Planet,” traced by its effects on a dozen smaller (already discovered) worldlets.  This exceptionally well-written article on the pre-discovery prediction lays out a cool story of science at its boldest.
